(Honestly, an earth elemental outclasses 90% of class summons. If I wanted strong combat summons as a warlord, I'd get fire or especially earth mastery instead and summon elementals, and those were in the base game already. They're harder to research than the racial version (it's random when they appear in your spellbook, the racial version always appears) and the units themselves are much more support oriented than the Horned Gods or Eldritch Horrors.

I don't think the tier IV alignment spec summons alter the balance much.
